Rocks Engineering Company, along with its management affiliate – Allen & Rocks, Inc. – has been in the Real Estate development business in the Washington, Baltimore and Richmond corridor for over fifty-five (55) years. The Company has evolved over the years from a builder of single family homes to a developer / builder of multi-family residential, high-rise apartments, shopping centers, hotels, restaurant sites and other commercial properties. In recent years, the Company has developed and acted as either the general contractor or project manager on projects for its affiliated ownership companies, such as: The Easton Club in Easton, Maryland, an 18 hole golf course community comprised of 342 single family lots and townhomes; renovation and market repositioning of and sale of The Townes at Copper Springs, a 147 unit rental community in Herndon, Virginia; The Ivy Club, a complete renovation of a 287 unit rental community in Landover, Maryland; Conversion of Days Inn Dulles to a Crowne Plaza, after first completing a 135 room addition, including ballroom and conference rooms, to an existing 200 room hotel near the Dulles International Airport; 8027 Leesburg Pike / 1934 Old Gallows Road, a mixed-use project, including Nordstrom Rack, Destination XL, Paladar Rum Bar and Neisha Thai restaurants, and 115,000 square feet of office space, with financing in excess of $42,000,000. Rocks Engineering Company utilizes Shar Con Hotel Management & Development Company to provide quality professional management services to the Marriott brand hotel, and the Holiday Inn Hotel, both of which were developed in 2007, as well as the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Rocks Engineering Company utilizes its affiliate Allen & Rocks,Inc. to provide quality professional property management services to the Rocks owned multifamily, commercial office and retail properties. With 110 employees, Allen & Rocks, Inc. currently manages approximately 2,211 residential units, in Montgomery, Prince George’s and Baltimore Counties and Baltimore City, Maryland, as well as in Fairfax County, Virginia. Our apartment communities have been recognized by The Maryland Multihousing Asscociation and the Property Management Association of greater Washington DC for excellence in apartment management and quality community awards. Additionally, our leasing and maintenance teams have also been recognized for special achievements for their individual accomplishments.

Allen & Rocks, Inc. is an active member of the Institute of Real Estate Management, National Apartment Association, and the Property Management Association. Many of our employees have achieved professional designations from these organizations.
